Beautiful hotel. The staff was exceptional. Our waiter Mohit was very attentive and helpful in making our dining experience memorable. I would also like to acknowledge Guido who works at the front desk. He was very pleasant and hospitable.

Quiet and centrally located

We were in Amsterdam on the Kings birthday, so it was pretty wild. Despite the mayhem outside, we enjoyed a great sleep. The bed was a little lumpy and soft. The room was very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We opted for the premium lounge and it was a nice, quiet place to hangout after a busy day. Snacks were minimal, as was the breakfast. We should have signed up for the breakfast buffet as it looked wonderful. There was a bit of an issue gaining access to the lounge one time. Fantastic central location, and we walked everywhere from the hotel to all the sights in Old Town. It was adjacent to the docks for the river cruise ships.

Memorable time with friends at Movenpick Hotels

We just returned from a Viking cruise where we stayed at a Movenpick Hotel in Basel, Switzerland and a Movenpick Hotel in Amsterdam at the end of the cruise. Our friends and my husband and I enjoyed the hotel, amenities and location. We especially enjoyed our restaurant dinners in Amsterdam, as we were served on two nights by a very affable and efficient server by the name of Prince, originally from Ghana. Because of this, it capped off a memorable experience for us with our friends. Thank you.

Very good friendly staff and efficient service. All services were there. Good quality food and beverage. Generally a good location for River Cruising.

Front Office Manager Mean Spirited

April 2024 Booked two nights at $332 a night. Our flight was canceled from Boston to Amsterdam. I called to let the hotel know we would not be arriving that evening as planned. The lady at the desk said it was too late to cancel. We would have to pay for that night. When we arrive the next day, we were exhausted from the overnight flight. We asked if breakfast was included in our rate. The from office Manager (Simona) said no. We asked if there was a restaurant near by where we would get breakfast. She said no. We paid the hotel $332 for a room we did not get because of the canceled flilight. Under those circumstances, would the hotel include breakfast? Simona said no. I thought that was pretty mean spirited.

First of all, I can imagine the distress a cancelled flight has given you. The hotel booking you selected- with breakfast excluded- with Accor has a free cancellation policy of 1 day prior to your arrival date, meaning cancelling is free until 31 March 15.00h in your situation. This is a typical unforeseen incident and charge you can claim back with your Travel Insurance. Our team member responded correctly that breakfast was not incuded in your rate, as you requested to have complimentary during your stay due to your flight being cancelled. I do regret and apologize for not being able to having fulfilled your expectations at that point.. Besides this, we hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay with us.
